Epic Arts is a grassroots
non-profit organization that promotes collaboration and community
development through the arts. Since 1997, we have been working to
build community partnerships, mobilize local artists, produce cultural
events, and develop resources and facilities that ensure accessibility
for artists, performers and audiences. This is an excellent opportunity

Non-
Profit Arts & Community Management Internship
Our dynamic grass-roots
community arts & cultural development organization seeks highly
organized, self-motivated, personable, and eloquent communicator
who is able to demonstrate a commitment, enthusiasm and responsibility
for key projects and operations. Will work closely with the Executive
Director to develop, manage and track programs, systems and people
in the areas of facilities management, human resources, event production
and organizational development.This is a fast paced environment
with opportunity to expand skills and interact with a wide range
of community members.
Approximately 5-10 hrs
wk. 4 hrs fixed and the rest flex. Schedule to be determined. This
is an unpaid internship with a minimum commitment of 6 months. Stipend
and other paid opportunities may result after a successful initial
period. We are looking to develop long term potential and therefore
we are only considering local applicants, preferably in the Berkeley, Oakland
area.

Manager
Intern needed to manage,
update, and help redesign www.epicarts.org. Weekly content update,
posting of in house events, special events, programs, staff and
volunteer updates. Send a bi-weekly email to our list based on new
content on site. Create new, exciting, eye-catching graphics to
represent our arts organization. Will work with a lead designer
on a regular basis. Can work remotely if desired but will occasionally
need to work on-site with lead designer and other staff.
Required Skills:
* HTML coding (Dreamweaver or other WYSIWYG editors fine)
* basic Javascript
* basic Flash
* Photoshop CS
* Illustrator CS
* MS Office (Word, Excel)
* Mac OS X platform preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities
include
* working with executive staff on campaign development and strategy
* Managing Monthly Promotional Distribution (calendars, flyer's,
mailers, banners)
* Organizing, Posting and Distributing Press Releases
* Coordinating Messaging Information and Outreach materials with
neighborhood organizations and media
* Working with graphic design team to insure complete and consistent
materials

Volunteer
and Community Coordinator
Responsible for managing
the volunteer and outreach participation scheduling, maintaining
personal relationships with key volunteers and following up with
new inquires. You will be working with core staff to insure positive
and rewarding relationships to both our internal team and extended
community leadership. A key function will also be facilitating communication,
organizing quarterly and annual events specifically for team development,
training and fun.
Approximately 5-7 hrs
wk. Will vary throughout the year. 4 hrs fixed and the rest flex.
